 The Ministry of National Development said Friday it has raised the rate of property development charges for select-use groups for the period March 1 to August 31 this year, after taking into account current market values.
The development charge is a tax the government imposes on property redevelopment.
Compared to September 2007, development charges for commercial property sites inched up by an average 1.5 percent, while those for non-landed residential use increased by 2.6 percent.
Development charges for hotel and hospital group use rose an average 3.3 percent while those for industry and warehouse use had the biggest jump of 16.8 percent.
